What's interesting is that we still haven't had a Silent Generation (1929-45) President (McCain would have been the first), and seeing as this group's youngest members are currently 65, we might never get one.
Carter (born October 1924) was a member of the Silent Generation. The G.I./Greatest Generation ended December 7, 1923 (those born later than that were still children when Pearl Harbour happened).
I would note that many of the fighters in WWII could have been born as late 1927. Both my father and uncle fought in WWII (my uncle landing on Iwo Jima), and were born after 1923.
