This has been debunked already as drug war propaganda.

I bought pseudoephedrine from the Ithaca Target pharmacy a week or so ago.  I asked the pharmacist what the max was and he replied "works out to about eleven packs a month".  I then turned to my friend "good thing the recipe only calls for nine" which disappointingly drew no reaction.

Can you provide a source?  The same drop was observed around here, and I can personally testify that the street-level buy/sell activity has dropped off a lot and there just seem to be fewer tweakers all-around.  That's unscientific of course, and maybe all the statistics I've seen are "propaganda," but we'll need proof and not just claims to that effect.

I agree with Bandit here. Meth should be legalized. I imagine the number of meth labs would probably decrease since it would probably no longer be as lucrative as it is now.

Although you are quite correct that the problem of meth labs could be cured overnight by legalizing it, I just don't know if it should be made available in stores. The same thing with Heroin, PCP and perhaps Cocaine. These drugs are just too destructive or addictive imho. Of course all criminal penalties for possessing or using these drugs should be rescinded immediately.

Yes - the war on prescription / over the counter drugs is stupid, in my opinion.

The "ban" on Sudafed.

Another thing that's stupid is not allowing people under 18 to buy printer cleaner papers - I'm not sure what the reasoning is - if you can get high from them or build a bomb or what, but I once drove 30 minutes to buy some because the Best Buy by my house was out of them.  Got to the other Best Buy and the lady wouldn't let me buy them underage, so the guy behind me offered to do it.  Still a huge pain.
