No, but he sure is at least part Breton. His name is likely short for Djouadec, a typical Breton name.

Well he is French. His original name was "De Jew," and when his parents went through Ellis Island, the officials when they scrivened down his name just contracted it to Djou.

Ah, "Charles' surname "Djou" is a French transcription of his Chinese surname 'Zhou.' "

And, at least 80% of his family appear to be extremely happy:

Question: If his name is actually "Zhou," do I pronounce it "Joe" like I normally would that name or do I try to pronounce it some other way?

Djou wins, with Hanabusa in second.  ~10% advantage.

I imagine Djou should win.....but I'm sceptical of Hawaii polling, regardless of what it says.

I'd claim that my prediction nailed this one:

"I'll guess
Djou - 40
Hanabusa - 30
Case - 27
Others - 3"

I've juggled some posts around, and you may find that if you posted in this thread, you'll now find your contributions here.  Please continue discussions about the results there, and predictions (and the origins of Djou's name, apparently) here.  Thx
