Kirk leads in an R2K poll? Seriously?

Giannoulias is screwed.

No, we just have a weak candidate for Governor that doesn't have any cross over appeal, I think both candidates were weak from the beginning.

First of all, I strongly doubt that Alexi's problems have anything to do with Pat Quinn.....you can't hold him responsible for everything.

Second of all....you were the one telling me in February how Giannoulias was much "cleaner, more qualified and appealing" than Hoffman.....now you're saying he's a weak candidate?

Kirk is winning because he's competent, in contrast to Alexi.

The party establishment, Dems said that Brady was too conservative for Illinois and that Quinn was going to be the favorite to beat and he has polled behind Brady ever since the primary and that shouldn't be happening.

And second of all, the Banking scandle didn't become known until after the primary.  Anyways, I supported Chris Kennedy from the start he wouldn't have had these fundraising problems, he would have financed his own campaign.

This is just plain false. David Hoffman attacked him over it throughout the primary campaign.

Even now, during the worst of  times for Democrats, the Republicans are struggling to break 40%.
They certainly can win but that won't happen in such a Democratic state by just sitting back and waiting for the Dems to implode.

I agree, Kirk got a bounce from his primary victory, but Giannoulias didn't and that is currently reflected in the polls, but Giannoulias was a much stronger candidate before the primary.

I've said it before, Kirk may lead this race the entire way, but if there are say 10% undecided within the last week (and if Kirk doesn't poll above 50%), those undecided voters will come to the democrats in this solidly blue state.
