No, you have to rank 5 elections (there is no particular reason for this number, but still. Wink). And don't forget to rank them by your order of preference.

Being present in 78% of the voters' top 5, the 1960 Election is qualified for the top 5 !

Interestingly, the 1884 election is the only one which didn't receive any vote. Tongue

Using IRV, 1912 would have narrowly won in the third round, 5-4 against 1968. 1960 would have got only 1 vote...

Well, now, let's proceed with our survivor !
I have classified the 12 remaining elections in 3 groups composed of 4 elections, so that each group's survivor will be qualified for the Final Top 5. Before you ask if I used particular criterion for the group classification : yes, I, did, but I'm not telling you which one until the end of the Survivor. Wink

Anyways, here they are :

Group 1 :
1968
1976
1980
1992

Group 2 :
1796
1912
1948
2008

Group 3 :
1824
1884
1896
1932

Now you have one vote (for each group). In each group, the election with the most votes will be eliminated.

Group 1 : 1992 is out

And now TrueCon owns us all because 1992 has more votes previously ! Tongue And I must say that for one I agree with him : 1976 was a more interesting than 1992, overall.





Group 2 : 2008 is out

1796 : 4
2008 : 4

Weirdly, dumbly and sadly, 2008 has got 7 votes in the initial rounds (most of them coming from hacks like Libertas), while 1796 has got only 6 "first prefenerce" votes. So 2008 goes, and the pointless election is safe once again.





Group 3 : 1884 is out

1884 : 7
1932 : 1

And finally a clear majority, and for the right election Tongue.




Round 45 begins. Now you have 10 votes, that you must split as you want between 3 different elections in 3 different groups (but you must give at least 2 votes to an election in each group).
