In the 1968 Presidential Election, Nixon's attempts to sabotage the Paris Peace Negotiations between North and South Vietnam, fail. Soon though after approaching the South, Nixon is tremendously hurt as the South Vietnamese leaders announce that Nixon had approached them to withdraw from the peace accords. Humphrey uses this to beat Nixon into submission and wins the '68 election.

Into Humphrey's Presidency, more social works, civil rights legislation and an official peace in 1970 between North and South Vietnam pushes his popularity. In 1971, Humphrey makes a good will tour of Canada and there Arthur Bremer assassinates the Minnesotan. The nation is shaken and Vice President Edmund Muskie ascends to the Presidency. Muskie carries out most of the same Humphrey strived for as President. In early 1972, Muskie announces his run for the Democratic nomination.

In 1970, the Texas Republican Party recruits John Wayne to be their nominee for Senate and "The Duke" wins over Congressman Lloyd Bentsen in a 53%-47% margin. Wayne then in his short time becomes an avid critic of spending and "liberal diversions" and soon Wayne announces his run for the Republican nomination. In a long and drawn out battle, Wayne wins against Nelson Rockefeller.

Democratic:
*Pres. Edmud Muskie, ME
*VP. Warren E. Hearnes, MO

Republican:
*Sen. John Wayne, TX
*Fmr. Gov. Mark Hatfield, OR

Who wins in the race against the GOP and the Dems? Will in be the Texan or the Mainer? Makes some maps.
