The first attempt at an occupational flag gets voted off overwhelmingly.

Our two final contestants are 1921-1958 and 1963-1991.  The first flag was the Iraqi flag throughout most of the Hashemite regime, and proudly shows the Hashemite family colors.

The other flag, 1963-1991, contains three stars representing the hope of an Iraqi-Syrian-Egyptian union and three stripes of Red, White, and Black to symbolize Arab Unity.  This flag was used through the military regimes of the Arifs and the Baathist regimes of Bakr and the first half of Saddam Hussein's rule.
