I aim this question at anyone here who considers himself or herself a Socialist, Marxist or Communism--How can you follow any of these ideologies? I'm simply talking on an intellectual or even logical basis. Given human nature, how can any of you conclude that a Communist or Socialist state can succeed without becoming tyrannical, in order to quell the greedy and competitive nature of man?
Basically, I'm asking for the board's socialists and communists to say why they believe in those ideologies--why they think communism and/or socialism can work? What, in your opinions makes communism and socialism superior to communism.
Note--this is NOT aimed at Social Democrats or those who favor a mix of Socialism and Capitalism. It's aimed strictly at those who could be called purely Socialist or Communist.
