Guys let's reintroduce an amendment to reduce the size of the assembly.  As Badger noted in another post......anyone who runs gets elected.  Our assembly is ridiculously large.  I'll work on some wording.......maybe we can increase the size IF the number of registered NE members increases......sort of an increasing scale if you will.

I think we should have some sort of static number between 6 and 8.

Governor Morgan-

The following bill has passed the Assembly by a 3-1 vote with 1 express abstention, 1 excused absence, and 3 unexcused absences, if my math is correct.  It is presented to you for your signature or veto.  Failure to act within 7 days shall be treated as a signature.

Rep. Doctor Cynic has now officially missed votes on the final passage of 3 consecutive bills without posting a leave of absence.

If the Assembly and Governor can give me direction as to what they would like me to do, I am more than happy to serve as this commission. Unless you guys intend to actually form a commission and study the issue, in which case I can provide data.

Just let me know.

We don't need a real commission so you can do it if you want. Smiley

FYI - the Practical Labor Policy Act passed the Assembly by a 6-1 vote yesterday and is presented to you for your signature or veto.  If you fail to act on this bill within a week, it will become law without your signature.

Executive Order MB-1

Section 1 of the Practical Labor Policy Act will allow all standing contracts to come to term before re-negotiation.  This is not a change, but a simple clarification.

Is the Special Election over? If it is, the voting booth needs to be closed.

No.  The booth closes at 11:59:59PM tonight.  The CJO is responsible for closing it and counting votes.

By a 4-2 margin with one unexcused absence, the Assembly has passed another bill for you to sign or veto:

The public employees have gone on strike.  Do you want to request an emergency injunction against the illegal strike from the CJO?

You might want to mobilize the Northeast National Guard, if you haven't already.  The relevant law gives you that power as Governor.

Regardless of what Atlasian law says, the Northeast has an Army and Air National Guard - and the Governor has the authority to call them up.

I don't question the right of the Governor to call those forces forward. It just would not be Constitutional at this time.

So sue him if he decides to do so.  If the police are on strike, we're not going to leave the Northeast without some police presence.  Calling on the guard to fill that role isn't asking them to act as armed forces in the traditional sense any more than it is were the Guard called out to help in a flood zone.
