I doubt it, considering he's actually made deliberate actions that would destroy his chances. He could've kept his approval ratings high and been set to be re-elected if he wanted to.

No, of course not.  To pull a Sam Spade, "This has been obvious for some time now."

Very possibly, and the D's might be happy to keep him.

If you're a three-term Senator, staying in the Senate is a bad decision financially.

I think he will, just because he thinks he is so much better than everyone else and its a pre-ordaned destiny.  He has to fight the muslim enemy.

Yeah, as explained earlier, he has worse approval ratings among Democrats than Obama does among Republicans in the state. He'd be absolutely destroyed in any primary now, and wouldn't win enough Democrats as he did last time to get elected as an independent. He COULD'VE prevented this though by not acting like a party-screwing douchebag at every opportunity since being re-elected, so he's obviously not planning on running.

I doubt it: he'll be old, and his actions of late indicate that he intends to spend he rest of his life writing books and speaking at AEI (where an endowed chair is likely being prepared for him).

If the Democratic congress faced the possibility of ONLY having Lieberman, I would gladly cede the full Senate to the GOP.

If he runs, it will be as an independent, or a Republican if he switches parties after the next General Election.

I think he will, but as a loyal democrat. He will be more leftist in the next two years, this man wants to stay in the senate, and he knows he will lose as a republican. But D's won't chose him NEVER =].

No, and I suspect he retires before his next reelection campaign.

Wouldn't be shocked to see him end up in a Republican president's administration, however.

Doubt it, he'll want his money. He'll probably pick a party by then to align himself with someone.

No - He knows its his last term, whether he runs or not. He's only in the Senate still because he wants to f*** with Obama and the Dems. He'll probably go out on a limb and hope for a cabinet appointment in a Republican administration.

I wouldn't put it past him to run again as an independent to screw with whomever emerges as the Democratic nominee (someone better than Lamont, I would hope).

He wouldnt run again for the money, that is for sure.  Right now, I can promise you he is banking on two things. He is hoping for big republican gains in the Senate, and hoping that a republican gets elected President. If that happens, he'll most likely get a cabinet position in the next administration. If not that, he will retire, and make three times as much as he does in the Senate serving on a board of Directors.

He'd probably take more votes from Republicans than Democrats at this point (seriously look at his approvals again) and the Republican would likely be a joke anyway.

Yeah, he doesn't win again as a Republican and doesn't get the nom as a Democrat.

I wonder what appointed position he'd make sense for in an administration.  Maybe National Security Advisor?

there was some talk of him serving as Secretary of Homeland Security in a McCain administration.
