Giant Saguaro:
Any recommended reading anyone would like to share?

Fraternity by Bob Greene about his time with Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Carter, and Bush 41. If you've ever sort of wondered what it would be like to just have a conversation with one of them, this is it. Doesn't condemn or exonerate or praise any of them, really. Granted, I read it pretty fast. It's a quick read, though, it's not 7 thousand pages and doesn't go on and on with irrelevancies. His thesis is sort of concerned with what makes a President tick and examines the position itself and its members in the conext of a distinguished fraternity.

Treason: How America's Friends and Foes are Secretly Arming Our Enemies by Bill Gertz. I'm part of the way through it, it's hard to put down - a page-turner. Oil for Food is in there, China, Russia, France, UN failures, etc. So far very interesting. I have the feeling that when I get done I will want more. It's an eye-opener. I hope Kerry reads as the first thing he does if he's elected! :)

J. J.:
"The Prince," Machiavelli

"Parliament of Whores," O'Rourke

"Presidential Elections and American Politics," Asher (latest edition possible)

"Who's Running America:  The Bush Restoration," Dye

"Plunkett of Tammany Hall," Plunkett (if in the field campaigning)
