Just curious. Most Democrats and independents seem to think was at least an okay president, but Republicans seem to believe that he was a bad president. What do you think?

OK President. I admire him for raising taxes on the rich (not nearly enough in my opinion, but probably the best he could have accomplished at that time), for achieving a budget surplus, and for his foreign policy. On the other hand, I am disappointed in him for his failure to achieve healthcare reform (and he had much more potential support in Congress for this than Truman had), allowing the GOP to recapture Congress, supporting reckless deregulation (such as that of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act), and doing nothing about rising income inequality in the U.S.

As President, he was fine.  More positive than negative.

As a person, well, when you need to have a member on your staff (Betsy Wright) to manage the bimbo eruptions, you might not be a good person. Wink

Looking back at the last ten years...for all of Clinton's faults, his years were wonderworld in comparison.

Clinton was not a great President, by any stretch of the imagination. Welfare reform, NAFTA, DOMA....the list goes on. Fortunately, he and the rest of the DLC is political history.

Yeah because the Democratic controlled Congress have been so successful at pushing forward a "progressive" agenda (rolls eyes).

As for Clinton.........Bad President.
I could give a damn about him lying about getting his dick wet, but he was one of the most disgusting presidents we ever had: Waco, the Assault Weapons Ban, Don't Ask Don't Tell, the Defense of Marriage Act, using federal agents to besiege a Cuban family's house just to force the kid back to Cuba, bombing a factory in Sudan just to distract from his personal controversy, and that is just the stuff I can think of off the top of my head.
So yeah, Bad President.

Well I thot we would never ever have one as bad as FDR carter or slick willie.  But with the COMMUNIty organizer in the "white" house I am seeing just how bad it can be.

Even so clinton was a complete basterd who tried for force socialism down our throats because he could not say no to his murdering bull dike bitch of a wife on health care.  He wagged the dog and put our troops at risk to hide his own personal sins and he LIED UNDER OATH which should have landed him in jail.

Welfare reform?  You mean the little token move to the center that clinton was forced to do by Republicans who held the upper hand?  That welfare reform was a joke.  REFORMING WELFARE WOULD BE TO END IT COMPLETELY AND GET THESE LAZY U KNOW WHATS OFF THIER FAT ASSES

You do realize that, as chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council prior to the '92 primaries, Clinton made welfare reform the centerpiece of his campaign, promising a "new generation of Democratic leadership"?

Oh, wait, I forgot, you know nothing about politics.

I fail to see your point. The current congress isn't progressive in any sense of the word and even if it were, it's failures would not conjure up any fond memories of the DLC in my mind.
