Obama was barley reelected to a second term in 2012.  The country remains in a recession during his second term.  The deficits are larger than they have ever been.

The republicans begin to plan for the 2016 election.  Texas Senator George P. Bush remains the early frontrunner for the nomination.  He had been elected to the senate in 2012 when Kay Bailey Hutchinson choose not to seek another term.

It's Late 2014, when FL Senator Marco Rubio is called to Senator Jim DeMint's office.  Marco is surprised to see a group of men in there.  The men in there are:

Congressman Mike Pence of Indiana
Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin
U.S. Senator from Oklahoma James Inhofe
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins
Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist

Sentar Rubio is stunned when DeMint says they want him to run for president.

They explain to them that they fear that Bush cannot win the general election.

"We fear that he will turn some red states into blue states," explains DeMint.

"The 2 previous Bush Presidents were not real conservatives.  They were horrible at spending.  Bush Sr. broke his no new taxes pledge.  Bush 43rd was never serious about cutting spending either," Norquist said.

Tony Perkins explains that he can get the evangelical Christians to unite behind Rubio.  " One of the reasons George W. Bush won in 2004 was because he promised us to pass the federal amendment making Marriage between a man and a woman," Perkins said.  "Then he breaks his promise after the '04 election is over."

Rubio at first explains that he cannot beat George P. Bush for the nomination.  "You guys don't understand.  Everyone in this town wants another Bush (referring to the GOP Washington DC establishment).  Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are loyal to former President George W. Bush.  So they will no doubt support his nephew George P. Bush."

"Actually, there are many of us that do not want another Bush.  Go out there and run.  After Iowa, we will come out and support you.  There were many Democrats in '08 that were secretly against Hillary Clinton but were afraid to speakout until Obama won Iowa,"  DeMint says.

Rubio says "Where do you think the Latino vote will go?  There will be two of us running."

"Well, I've talked to some hispanic leaders about you.  They say you would stand a bettor chance.  Bush is half-white with a non-hispanic name.  You are the real deal.  Most hispanic leaders tell us  they will be out there making that case.   They will point out that Bush has not done much for the Latino community.  They will point this out. Don't say any of this during your campaign.  Let them do that."

"But we will split the Latino vote"  Rubio says.

"Not true," Mike Pence says.  "We believe that you both will be the last two men standing in this race."

Rubio says "But he endorsed me over Crist in the FL Senate race.  He is expecting me not to run in return."

"Break it," Paul Ryan says.  "It happens all the time.  We are looking for another Reagan, not another Bush.  It's the 1980 GOP primary all over again."

So Rubio runs against Bush in the 2016 Primary.  My prediction: Rubio wins.  Voters see that he is more like Reagan than Bush is.  Latinos are excited about Rubio much more than they are about Bush.  The Bush family is stunned when many Latinos backed Rubio over Bush.  Bush was counting on hispanic support early on to win the nomination.  He knew without them, it would be tough to win the nomination, since most conservatives are looking for a change from the Bush brand and want to go back to Reagan's style of management.  He knew if he could get the Latino community excited, he would have a better chance.  Then Rubio comes along and gets both the hispanic vote, and the Reagan fans.
