Supposedly, Lamont just hired Joe Abbey, from the disastrous Deeds campaign, so be on the lookout for the Democrats snatching defeat from the jaws of victory once again.

Yes, and the pope is catholic.

I think that is an established fact.

I'm a little confused by Lamont here, actually.  What's his schtick anyway?  In 2006, he was the anti-war Democrat...but to run for governor in 2010, is he going to run as the economic populist or what?

Ned Lamont running as an economic populist would be one of the great ironies of the political world ever.  I like it.  Tongue

Common, but to that degree?  I mean Lamont comes from, well, you know...  Makes George Bush's silver spoon look rather insignificant.

Uh, he lost one race in the general election. He still managed to oust a sitting U.S. Senator in a primary. I take the fact that he's actually leading in a Rasmussen poll (of all polls) as a pretty good sign.

The fact that Lieberman is still a sitting senator is a pretty good sign that losers can still win elected office, for what it's worth.

He has no chance, that must be why he's leading.

Add the fact that he's a millionaire rich boy in a populist environment, and he's toast.  Maybe that Susan Byciewiez bitch can beat him.

Susan will have a hard time beating him considering she dropped out and is now running for AG (despite being the frontrunner for the nomination).

Presumably, he's gonna run as the guy who deserves the office because he came close to winning a race for another unrelated office.

We all know how well those campaigns generally go.

I cannot believe that Democrats are going to just let this guy waltz to a loss in November.
