I'm actually quite surprised Quinn managed to pull it off.

Considering you guys lost to Rod Blagojevich by double-digits, I wouldn't hold your breath.

Quinns approvals are in the tank. The Dems will have a tought year in 2010. And Brady must have run one heck of campaign and has a motivated base most likely. I would say, anything is possible.

Eh.  Probably.  But with most of what's out in Cook County, where Brady's getting killed, I wouldn't be so sure, unless I knew exactly what part of Cook is still out.  The missing St. Clair precincts may offset Cook.

I probably would have voted for Blago once I got a chance to see him on TV.  He's certainly more entertaining than your usual GOP crook.

I thin I posted above that half of the Cook County precincts are in CD's 1,2,7 which are African American Districts adn would give Dillar and Brady 200 votes between them at best.

He still had one of the lowest approval ratings in the country before that.

Brady up 330.

The people over at Capitol Fax (an Illinois Politics blog) predict Brady by about 700.  Absentees will then come into play.

Best I can tell from the AP + Cook County's website, 171 of the missing Cook County precincts are in Chicago.  94 are in the suburbs.

The Chicago Sun-Times describes the Republican primary as "an epic battle". Truer words have never been printed.

Ill_Ind

171 Chicago
94 Suburban Cook
6 DuPage

Edit: Another 13 suburban Cook should be reporting shortly - up on the Cook County website.  So it's 81 Suburban Cook.

DuPage should be all in in the next update as well.

DuPage differential:
Dillard +263
Brady +46
from AP results - net gain Dillard+ 217

Brady adopted the same strategy this time as he did 4 years ago.  Ignore Chicago and the collar counties and get in on the downstate vote.  Appears to have worked better this time around.

When you only need 21% to win, it can certainly work...

Horrible person, good campaigner, and, in the case of 2006, no oxygen for Republicans in Democratic strongholds....Now, with an incumbent?
