Chicago Board of elections now reporting everything except 1 precinct.

Dillard +115
Brady +45

Net gain for Dillard 70.

It's over for the first count.  Suburban Cook is in and so is all of Chicago except 1 precinct.

We'll now see what happens with the official count.

The GOP in Illinois is seriously lucky that this primary is so early.

Of course, they'll probably end up nominating Alan Keyes or something.

What does that do to the Democratic race? the AP isn't reporting that yet.

Never mind...did it myself with the local websites.

Quinn should be up by 7933 votes, as far as I can see.

This is one thing I don't like about my party. I've been around priests my whole life as my family has been involved in the Catholic church very much and most of them believe in evolution and yet these people believe in creationism. There's being religious, and then there's being stupid.

The AP numbers still have like 70 missing precincts from Chicago....but they're actually already counted, according to Cook County officials, and the results are posted on their websites.

So actually 100% of precincts are reporting.

So where can I get all results together, not just the Cook County precincts?

I don't think you can. Smiley

You just have to calculate the votes gained through the last precincts in Chicago and add that to the AP numbers.

"A life"

I resemble that remark!!

Actually, like every election day, I got a tongue lashing from the Mrs. for not doing anything at home and only being concerned with politics.  I'm sure I'm not the only one though.  Good thing it only comes twice every 2 years or so!!!

Then why the hell do you want the results at all? Just piss off then if you're too lazy to do any work yourself.

You just have to calculate the votes gained through the last precincts in Chicago and add that to the AP numbers.

You could try to recreate the numbers yourself, but you'd have to search out every county and reporting city's elections website (usually the city or county clerk).  The AP has the county breakdown here.   Illinois' Board of Elections Website has no unoffical results yet.

The final unofficial results have Brady up by 406.  This is now reflected on the AP's website.

The numbers could also change slightly as errors are discovered, but there's no indication that that'll help any particular candidate over another one.

Hynes concedes defeat!

Dan Hynes conceded the Democratic governor nomination to Gov. Pat Quinn this morning, telling a news conference that "we rose up but fell just a little short."

Hynes phoned the governor around 9:30 a.m., aides said, then made a public announcement shortly after 10 a.m.

"Well, the people have spoken, and the votes have been counted. And I'm here to report that we rose up but fell just a little short," Hynes said. "And if democracy means anything, it means that the campaign with more votes wins."

"We did the right thing. Made sure all the votes are counted and now we know for sure that wasn't us," Hynes said in a statement. "And rather than contest or demand anything further, let's do the right thing again."

This fiasco makes a strong argument in favor of abolishing seperate elections for Governor and Lt. Governor, doesn't it?

I dunno what he should do....

Seriously good point! The Catholic Church has made peace with evolution decades ago, and aptly explains that it was the tool of God' wondrous plan for the word. How does Brady wind up being a creationist?

IIRC, Santorum made some pro-creationist statements in his last term too. When one is more conservative on literal interpretation of the Bible then the Pope, that's conservative.
