Gerald Ford vs. Michael Dukakis 1988

Reagan picks Ford instead of Bush Sr. as his VP in 1980. After Reagan gets reelected, the GOP nominate Ford despite his advanced age. The Democrats still nominate Dukakis. How would this election turn out? Discuss, with maps.

Despite his advanged age, Ford manages to pull off a narrow victory due to the good economy and Dukakis's mistakes. Ford emphasizes the good aspects of Reagan's Presidency like the reduced inflation and unemployment rate, while promising to decrease the deficit and income inequality that was caused by Reagan's policies.
