Yes - while it was still legal here in Michigan.  After a couple times, I realized that it was a dumb idea, and I haven't done it since then.

Exactly - and upon further review, I may have made a mistake.  I'm not sure that the bill has passed the state Senate (it passed the House, but I think I was confusing it with the recent smoking ban bill which passed [that I disagreed with]).

Yes, but I can type text messages without looking at my phone.  When it comes to reading them, I usually wait until red lights or heavy traffic, both of which this city is in no short supply.

I could type without looking at my phone when I had a BlackBerry.  Now that I have an iPhone, it is too easy to make a typo, so I wait until red lights to both read and type messages.
