What was the deal here?  Harrison wasn't even on the ballot, and Cleveland beat Weaver 85-13.  Seriously, what happened?

Nothing too surprising. It's the old Solid South.

Cleveland only broke 80% in Florida, and was held under 60% in VA, NC, TN, GA, AL, AR, and TX.  Florida was a unique case, it seems.

Make it smaller, and flip the colors.

Well, that was my map until someone took it and inverted the colors.

I guess that the white Democratic racists were more successful using fear and intimidation in keeping blacks away from the polls in Florida than in other Southern states in 1892.

Republican party had such a weak party organization in Florida that it did not get listed on the state ballot.

How many inhabitants did Florida have in 1892?

Florida had about 390,000 in 1890 and about 530,000 in 1910. Thus, it should have had about 418,000-420,000 in 1892 based on statistical regression.
