Reagan defeats Carter in 1980. However, in 1981 he pushes through a law that limits the Fed's independence and puts it under direct control of the White House. Then, Reagan forces Volker to keep interest rates low despite the fact that Volker argued high interest rates are necessary to defeat hyperinflation. Thus in 1984 the inflation rate is 10.1% on election day while the unemployment rate is 6.6%. The Democrats nominate New York Governor Hugh Carey, who picks Kentucky Governor Martha Collins as his running mate. Reagan retains Bush Sr. as his running mate. How would the 1984 election turn out?

My map:

Carey/Collins-368 EV-56.94%
Reagan/Bush-170 EV-41.19%
