No, confirm him slowly so that you don't need another person to run the Senate and leave the body down to seven members.

I will be sure to give him the grilling that I give all appointees. I have no doubt of his qualifications but this rush to confirm is the same nonesense and trife that put Keystone Phill in the Attorney General's office. Therefore no matter, how sure we are that they will do a good job we must treat all appointees the same, and thus ask tough questions of him. Its not like its cruel and unusual punishment or something.

The Secretary of Forum Affairs is an office in desrepair of the long and dissasterous term of Earl. As SoFA what you change about the office to make it more efficient and less prone to such innactivity? Any clarification of the law maybe?

Will you be willing to come to senate regulary to ask for changes as they arise? I think a part of the problem was Earl did look for ways to improve the position any.

What will you do differently as SoFA, especially with regards to interpretation of electoral law which it seems has become a significant issue in recent elections? What will you do to reduce misinterpretation? Will you be willing study electoral law and find any loopholes or other issues and then come to the senate and ask for changes?

That also concerns me as it would any appointment to SoFA. Other than that I have no objections to his nomination Smiley

^^

I just wish that you will be able to be active, carry out your duties - updating the voter list, regulating absentee voting, opening voting booths. And also posting a goddamn notice when you're absent for an extended period time.

Simple. I plan to be more active than Earl. Wink I plan to offer updated voting lists weekly if at all possible. It provides Atlasia with accurate up to date information and saves me work shortly before an election going through weeks and weeks of a thread.

Which law would you like clarified, btw?

If I believe any changes are necessary, I won't hesitate to lobby the Senate. Should any legislation be introduced that would in any way affect my work, I would naturally offer my opinion and commentary.

I don't personally think the electoral law is all that confusing really. Are there any specific problems you are aware of that you would like me to address?

But naturally, yes, it would be my job to study the applicable electoral law, and I pledge to keep the Senate informed of anything that may catch my eye.

Its all confusing to me, tbh. But my point is primarily that once you find these problems, you will work to fix them. I have no specific, currently on-going examples to mention, though. I am confident from your answers that you indeed will be doing what the position requires. Of course activity is the number one change that can be made and avoid a repetitive cycle of innactivity breading further innactivity as the job gets harder(going through weeks of posts on the registration thread as you mentioned).

If there are no more important questions, I can call a vote at about 11:30 am Eastern.

I hope I can get confirmed rather quickly, because it is important that I am able to present an official list of registered voters to the Northeast region for their election.

I would normally abstain on my own confirmation.....but I vote AYE to speed the vote up.

Franzl is the best possible candidate for the job. His eloquence shall modernize the voting process, and fix this system in disrepair. I endorse him, because the time for a capable SoFA is now.
