A massive amount of nonsense and waisted time that would only make it harder to keep an active SoFA.

Massive?

Insert any other adjective you prefer that would describe something being "big" or "large" if "massive" doesn't sound right.

It specifies that the information be given to the SoFA.

Don't argue against obstruction, Xahar. It's unfeasible!

Aye: 3
Nay: 3
abstain: 2

All senators have voted, and it is a tie.

The Vice President must decide this.

Don't we have 24 hours to change our votes?  One of the abstainers could change.

2 missing? Come on, Bacon King, vote for freedom. Vote in favor of this bill.

But I don't think this applies here, considering it has neither enough to pass nor fail. Every senator has voted though.

I think Bacon King's vote on this will reveal if he is, indeed, going to seek the Presidency in February. It would be unwise to vote against this unless he wants to build upon his current reputation as a senseless obstructionist [see: Southeast Assembly]. If he wants to run for the Presidency, he will show leadership and vote for progress.

That's my analysis.

I think the 24-hour rule for changing votes ought to be applied in this case.  Clearly the intent of the law, even if not explicitly stated.  But your call I guess, Franzl.

True, I'll allow it unofficially.

Senators, you have 24 hours to change your votes before I present this bill to the Vice President.

I disagree with Fritz. If legislation in the queue or on the floor is removed, why wouldn't the votes be? It's clear that the Senator's removal means all his standing legislative work is undone, including votes.

It's not about missing senators, just that the vote is tied.

No, it giving 24 hours to convince abstaining Senators, for each side.

I reverse my earlier declaration that we have a tied vote.

For the reasons outlined in the Regional Self Determination thread, I will be counting Marokai's vote.

Therefore:

Aye: 3
Nay: 4
abstain: 2

Senators, this legislation has enough votes to fail. You have 24 hours to change your votes.

Change vote to Aye. I gather we can give this a try, and see in a few elections' time how it works out.

Aye: 4
Nay: 4
Abstain: 1

We have a tied vote here, which the Vice President needs to decide.

I do not believe I am legally required to give 24 hours to change votes if the vote is tied.

I'd like to present this to the Vice President tonight, so I'm allowing senators to change votes until 4pm Eastern (about 7 hours from now).

So yeah....I did let it go for 24 hours anyway. Smiley

This vote is tied. I hereby request that the Vice President break it.

Aye. I don't really understand the big objections to what is ultimately a pretty simple bill. I also don't understand how my vote on this bill has anything to do with a Presidential run in February, but that's just me. Tongue
