Vulnerable Democratic Seats. 1)Unpopular Democratic Incumbents. a Chris Dodd-CT b Harry Reid-NV Harry Reid and Chris Dodd are in the similar situation as Conrad Burns-MT in 2006- unpopular due to corruption and been in office for too long. If any incumbent US Senator were to lose- it will be Dodd-CT and or Reid-NV. 2)Appointed Incumbents in unfriendly states. a)Michael Bennett-CO. - Bennett who is a first time candidate from a purple state- which has sitting Democratic Governor likely to lose re-election. Bennett-CO loses if their is a huge Anti Democratic wave- nationally or in Colorado. 3)Mediocre Democratic incumbents in unfriendly states. a)Blanche Lincoln-AR. Blanche Lincoln-AR is in a similar situation as Gordon Smith-OR in 2008- Fairly popular but lost because the state was way favorable to the opposing party. 4)OPEN Seats- (DE and IL) will be competitive but remain in the Democratic collumn.
On the Republican side- they have one highly vulnerable incumbent- Richard Burr-NC- mediocre approval ratings in a State that elected Obama and rejected Liddy Dole. Has a top tier challenger. The other highly vulnerable GOP seats are open seats in MO,NH,and OH. FL if Christ loses in the GOP primary.
