He's an ex-French politician (ironically from the department where I'm from) who created Liberal Democracy (DL) in 1998 as a split from the UDF. He was basically a 'liberal' (French context), and he's as a result been demonized by a large part of the left as THE liberal monster. While a lot of DL was actually rather socially conservative, I think he was more social liberal and he was one of the few to support the Iraq war. He's always been skeptic of Sarkozy's populism. I guess he's a good fit.

I will note, ftr, that he's an ex-far rightist and that the reasons for the DL-UDF split were less than honourable.

Well it fits us well.  I'm the strategist who lead conservatives back to prominence hated by the other side.  Duke is our loyal hard-working no bullsh**tting moderate, Yank is the nice exterior hard-hitting moderate southerner, and well the last one is self-explanatory

America does not have many prominent centrists and no party equilvanent to the DA.  You seem to have the Lieberman independent streak in you while actually leaning toward the left
