The 90's had so much great things happen during the decade.

The 00's had a lot going for it until 9/11. After that it never recovered.

I see it being remembered much like the 1920s, at least for America. Peaceful, Prosperous, Normal. Too bad I exited it being five.

Like much of the 20's, of course, we exited the decade in bad shape, and set ourselves up for future catastrophe for short-term gain.

Not to say there weren't alot of upsides, of course.

For once I agree with you. You did set yourself up for future catastrophe. By founding the Federal Reserve.

Guess what troll?

It's a pretty widespread view that the Fed contributed to the Great Depression, even among more moderate conservatives/libertarians.

Do shut up.

Not in the way you think.

Anyway, must you make every single thread about you and what you think? This thread has nothing to do with the Great Depression. You need a Great Depression megathread.

You need to shut up and stop imitating Joe Republic.

Also, at least I hold my views out of principle rather than out of actual real life circumstances like you do, Mr Handout.

Why is the Great Depression being discussed in a thread about the 90s?

As Schwarzenegger once said:

And we're discussing it because Marokai brought up a false analogy.

I think it will be viewed as a time of prosperity, peace, but ultimately excessive behavior (in the US). The 2000s are the counterbalance to the excesses, which (I hope) will lead us to further prosperity in the 2010s.

Agreed. Bush was a much more excessive President than Clinton or even his dad.
