Well, that +1 for the Republican Smiley

Ok, for real now, This is going to be a good race, and the Republican might be able to pull this one off. If he is running Smiley

That just says that Giuliani's people are *publicly* denying this.  Doesn't mean it isn't true.  They might just not want to talk about it on the record until Giuliani makes up his mind for sure.

The AP says:

Probably the same sources as the NY Daily News.  No mention by the AP of parlaying the senate seat into a presidential bid though.

Rudy is a terrible candidate and when he actually runs people will really see it.

Oh you are so true.  I remember watching the debates and seeing him give that rat smile.  You can't help but cringe.  Then he decided to create the Florida strategy (read: Vacation).  All the candidates would be shown on tv in one spot and then the networks would do the spring-break cam to show Rudy in sunglasses sitting down with some Florida pol.  Everyone would be like "How are you doing down there in sunny Florida, hurr, hurr, hurr?"  Rudy would say, "Everything is fantastic.  The weather is great.  We're thinkin' we have a great chance here in Florida.  Ha Ha!" blah, blah, positivity.  It's a nice trait, but these things, you can just tell...

Not in a NY race.  He managed to run for mayor and win.  Plus, his baggage is old news here, while it isn't in the rest of the country, and Rudy will not have to tack significantly right to win any primary, like in a national race.  I suspect if he wants to run, the field will be cleared for him, though.

One reason to be suspicious of this story....a quote from Giuliani just a few weeks ago:

If this gets confirmed, it would really surprise me -- Giuliani is risking his political future with this.  I thought he would run for the gubernatorial race because he would certainly win against Paterson.  All we need now is to get someone to beat Paterson (shouldn't be all that hard. Smiley).

I hope Giuliani risks his political furture for this and loses and Gillibrand beats him.  He won't be much of a factor if and should he loses.

An elementary school teacher with no political experience could beat Paterson in the Democratic Primary.

He is not going to be the nominee. The Democrats are keeping the governorship.

And Giuliani would not be a great candidate for the Senate, but he's still the best the Republicans have.

I saw this report not long ago, though:

And as was mentioned the last time you posted that crap, it is a blog with no sources nor any links, which is confirmed by absolutely nothing.

Looking at the Governors Race- Paterson-D will lose badly to Rudy and Pataki-R but is in a tossup race against Lazio-R. Paterson-D will lose in Democratic Primary to Andrew Cuomo-D by a landslide margin. Cuomo- defeats Lazio by a landslide. Rudy and Pataki by a double digit margin.  Looking at the US Senate-B Race- Gillibrand-D will be in a competitive Race against Pataki or Guiliani. Schumer-D is going to win by a landslide against sacrificial lamb GOP opponent. Gillibrand-D will benifit from Cuomo- Schumer coattails.
