Nice.  UVA Law is a very good school and has some impressive alumni.  One recommendation I have is that you consider majoring in Accounting or a hard science in college, so as to qualify you for jobs in tax law or patent law.  I, unfortunately, majored in Finance.

Best of luck to you.  Let me know if you need any help/advice.

P.S.  Should you graduate from UVA Law, I'm sure you won't have any trouble getting a job regardless of what your undergrad major was.

I'm a business major who is planning on majoring in finance, but I still have time to switch to accountancy. I am interested in going into corporate law myself. I hear tax attorney's make great money but work all the time...

Sure.  If you make good money, you're gonna have to work hard for it.  Corportate attorneyrs are generally the cream of the crop, so it's definitely something to shoot for.  A finance degree will definitely help you in classes like Corporations, Securities Regulations, Mergers & Acquisitions, etc., but it's not required.  If you want to be a tax attorney, however, I'm almost positive that you need some type of an accounting background.

Helps certainly, but not required (or generally necessarily).  You're right that an understanding of accounting helps (damn capital accounts...they're such a pain in the ass when you're talking about business transaction taxation).

My Tax prof was japanese language major at his undergrad.

Actuarial Studies/Law is the most hardcore subject you can do at uni...and two years out of it you can be expecting to earn around $600,000/year. Still, you have no life.
