Kreisky was no Angel, but he was not more corrupt like other politicians, maybe less. The begin of the Austrian Proporz-system was in the 50ies, not in his time and this system have a historical background. After the war the Conservatives and the Socialists don't want the fights  like in the 20ies and 30ies. This destroyed the democracy in Austria. Kreisky fromed 1970 minority government tolerated by the FPÖ (in this time the FPÖ was no far-right party) and then he got 3 times absolute majority. He made reforms he can't do it with the ÖVP.

It gives things I don't like about his politics. The atomic policy was highly questionable and with the time he lost his sensitivity for his party. Like every man who is long in power he think that he is more important like he is.

This with the revenge for de Gaulle was only a joke Wink
