Hmmm, gone for a while and I miss some things.

He makes no positive contribution.  He is ill-informed.  And, like lots of pre-teens and early teens (especially boys), he is certain his opinion is not only correct, but the only one worth hearing.

I want to like him, but as I age, I grow impatient with pups who refuse to listen before they speak or worse -- who refuse to crack open a book or read a newspaper.

We have had some young'uns here -- some liberal, some conservative.  But a good many of them have more to contribute than "OBAMA IS THE SUCK" or "LOLZ AT REAGAN".

I don't mind the occasional (or even the frequent) brief statement of opinion without substance.  Most of us do it.  What I mind is not being able to find a single post from someone that indicates any thought went into it, beyond "Dad says..." or "Rush says..."

I hope he is well and paying attention to his studies.  But good riddance.

I know what you mean. The forum is mostly composed of know-it-all high school students, or college students who pontificate about the world's problems, from the safety of their dorm rooms. I wholeheartedly believe the quality of the discussion on the Atlas would drastically improve if we got more members who can remember when the Moon Landing actually happened.

I don't. He has to understand that nobody likes him, respects him, enjoys his posts, or considers his intelligence sufficient to post here.

     I know that would have been me three years ago. I was an extreme social conservative who didn't really understand any of the issues. I'm glad that I didn't join the forum back when I first found it back in September 2006.

That is ironic, it was around that time that I went from being a bleedingheart liberal into a dye in the wool libertarian. I have been a libertarian since senior year in high school (about 3 years now) and as the years go by I only become more and more devout. I am a lot more passionate about my libertarian beliefs than I ever was about conservatism or liberalism whenever I was one or the other. Not to say I don't think it's possible for a conservative or a liberal to feel the same way about their beliefs, just that I believe after many years I finally found a solid philosophy to govern my beliefs.

With that said, I think JewCon is still in that initial age of discovery.

     Well, I didn't actually pass into the lower-right quadrant of the PM chart until around January 2008. I must agree though that there is something very comforting about adhering to a philosophy that can govern your views of the issues with minimal levels of cognitive dissonance. Most people don't have real political philosophies, & just react to each issue on a visceral level, according to the precepts of their elders.

Super young ones take a while to get use to..........hell my lil man Xahar is still taking some getting used to    Everyone just needs to calm down and be patient, and JewCon needs to get his point across with a bit less colorfully.
