I dislike the changes. Furthermore the President chose not to exercise this particular power with the Welfare Bill that he so swiftly vetoed He gives the impression therefore that he is concerned more with the rights of smokers than the rights of jobseekers.

This is a rather small rewrite. As President, I'm not a legislator, so I didn't feel comfortable completely redrafting the welfare bill, as I would have liked. As I said at the time though, I'm more than willing to go back to the drawing board with the Senate and that bill and work something out.
