There is a new Republican candidate in the race for Oklahoma's 5th Congressional District.  GOP Rep. Mary Fallin is resigning the seat to run for Governor to replace term-limited Brad Henry.  Church Camp Director James Lankford has thrown his hat into the ring.  He is the director of the world's largest Christian Camp at Falls Creek, Oklahoma.  He is, of course, very conservative, but he's the type of conservative that I might vote for.  He's not a GOP hack, but a sensible Republican.  Although, in this new house I won't have the privilege of voting for District 5.  Instead, I'm in District 4 and my only choice is Rep. Tom Cole or another lesser known Republican.  There are no Democrats so far in either race, which means I'll have to skip that line on the ballot for the primaries if no Democrat jumps in.

If there's no other Democrat, you should run BO!

In OK-5, is that really a viable option?

Same here. Of course, he's probably a good fit for his CD.

If you weren't a conservative from Oklahoma, I'd ask if you were drunk....

That's sort of the definition of a hack, Okie, and the word "sensible" is miles from any "Christian camp director".

Not this one... He's a horse of a different color...  For example, he's light years more sensible than my dear friend Sally Kern who is a pastor's wife.  She is indeed my good friend in personal life even though I disagree with the way she conducts her office.

So he doesn't support hanging the gays?

No, just "praying out the gay" I'd guess.

This makes him a moderate in Oklahoma.

This makes him a moderate in Oklahoma.

Especially since Oklahoma is such a centrist state.
