The Green Party might still have a future with the mayor of New Paltz New York. He could really kill the democrats this time.

Mayor West?  Maybe after he gets out of jail.  Just what we need in a president.  One who doesn't even know the law.  Bush may ignore it, at least he know it.

I wouldn't be shocked if he ran, and he would likely do as well as Nader did, and will do well in states like Massachusetts, New York, and California.

He would get real support though in urban areas though. He could be the swing in Florida or Pennsylvania, but he would do strongest in the cosmopolitan states.

my little piece of exurbia has fully transformed into suburbia.  I was awakened at 7 by an alarm going off, two stories down and about 3 blocks east.  This was followed by the sound of fire-truck sirens.  I peeped out of the blinds to see if the firetruck had a Kerry or Bush sticker, but it was too far away.

Don't forget, the republicans have won california in six of the last ten presidential contests.  With Kim Jung Il's recent Kerry endorsement and with Mayor Newsom's bitch brigade running roughshod over state law, don't be surprised if it becomes 7 of 11.

Of course, for reasons I don't fully understand, one has to be from the sunbelt to win elections for about the last 40 years.  (hint:  Kerry will not win nationally)  But that's beside the point.  I'm suggesting the Bush Machine wants to spend some money out here.  Lots of it.  Bush the Elder blew off California in 1992, right?  And lost many congressional seats in the process.  Bush the Younger campaigned here in 2000 and the republicans held their ground, and have gained since.  Of course, I suspect Kerry will win this state's votes.  But I hope Bush continues to campaign out here, as he did down in anti-tax country yesterday.

This site says it was CA again in 1972. I know it was NY formally for 1968, but I didn't count that... Wink
