He's been consistent on this for the last few years.  He's taken a staunchly "pro-settler" position every time he's visited Israel.  I don't think he's joking.

Yeah, my comment was more of a gut reaction than any doubt about Huckabee's position.  I have to wonder what makes him support such a position.  You can't call something the Israeli government and most of the people are against "pro-Israel".

Huckabee (if he runs) is really weaker then most think. A Huckabee/Pawlenty ticket will make me (a Libertarian Republican) vote third party.

*bump*

Huck is bringing up this theme again, now that he's on another trip to Israel.  He's saying that Israelis should be able to build anywhere they want in East Jerusalem, as "God gave them" the land:

And here:

http://www.ajc.com/news/nation-world/huckabee-says-no-palestinian-823467.html

he calls land for peace an "unrealistic, unworkable and unreachable goal."

Do you think Huckabee realizes that this would mean that he'd literally be the most extreme President on the I/P issue in American history?

Huck reiterates again that a 2-state solution is unrealistic:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0211/49750.html

And he says that the U.S. should “encourage the Israelis to build as much as they can and as rapidly as they can.”

"The real answer is that there’s an aggressive interest in bringing Jews from around the world to the homeland,” Huckabee said.

Oh, so his religious fanaticism is not just influencing his domestic policy, he will also be led by the Bible in foreign policy matters.

I would really like to hear a realistic Huckabee scenario. Arabs pack their bags to Egypt, Syria and Jordan and Israel annexes West Bank? Yeah, that's totally going to happen without provoking a WWIII.

So, anyone want to take odds on whether Huckabee knows or cares that Gaza has never been part of any Jewish state (except a very brief period under the Hasmoneans)?  It always gets me how Israeli ultra-Zionists talk about their historical and religious claims to the land and then include Gaza, which was never considered part of either Israel or Judah.

I am starting to think that maybe he isnt going to run. His is revealing more and more of his religious/bible-focused view of politics, which will kill off his generic Republican appeal.

Seems to me this Bible based approach to everything is exactly what GOP primary voters want to hear.

Is a vote for for Mike Huckabee a vote of "no confidence" on humanity?

I can see an ad air around here- about a year and a half from now-

Have you lost faith in humanity? Do you want to vote for a president who can end this three ring circus? Vote for Mike Huckabee. I'm Mike Huckabee and I approve this message
