I've been wondering why the libs hate George W. so much. Way more than Reagan, or even Nixon. It's a mystery to many Republicans. I think I have found the answer. The reason is because deep down in thier shriveled black hearts, they know that however the economy goes, whatever he does in Iraq, that Bush will go down as one of the greats. History will look upon him favorably, even if he doesn't get re-elected. They are bitter about not getting anything done with Clinton. That they had thier chance, and thier wonderboy was just average. When people think about Clinton 20 years from now, they will remember Monica Lewinsky. When people remember Bush, regardless of this upcoming elections results, they will remember his leadership after 9/11. They know that they cant destroy that legacy, and they hate him for it. They hate that he has one up on them. Your thoughts?

Ok, ok, I admit it. I hate Bush because he is great. And I hate America because of its freedom! You have discovered the truth with your brilliant post.

I dont even think Bush is great, but you know that he will be looked upon by history as great, while Clinton will not. The last great(by popular belief) president you guys had died in 1963.

The reason I hate Bush is that he is so inarticulate, so texan, so republican, so manipulated, and so much like his father.

My biggest problem with Bush is that he is not a leader at all. Besides Reagan, he is the most manipulated president we have ever had (although Carter might be added in third place). He has bad policies (excluding AIDS, Immigration and NCLB) especially when it comes to foreign affairs.

I also really hate his overwhelming Texan-ism. I HATE Texas Tongue

We'll let history be the judge of that. I think history will judge Clinton as it judges Eisenhower, as a good post-war consolidator.

In 1992, America was going to be bought by Japan, crime rates and other social problems were at record levels and rising, pre-1973 prosperity seemed permanently out of reach, and nowhere in their wildest dreams did economists believe that GDP growth could exceed 2.5% without debilitating inflation. The most-quoted economic statement was that "America is now the world's largest debtor nation." I was only 9 years old but I still remember how there was a sense of general malaise and fatalism back then. America was seen as a country in long-term decline, and this view was shared especially by conservatives. Clinton was the man who gave America it's confidence back.

President Bush is an elitist, who only cares about 1% of Americans.  He and Rove just happened to fool 49% more Americans that they care about them too.  He is in for a rude wake-up call in November.

President Bush lacks empathy and compassion, ironically, the 2 things he claims he has.  He embodies nothing of the cooperative spirit that made this country great.   President Reagan had empathy and compassion.

We dousn't seem to care about the future.  He does may short term fixes, but he doesn't really seem to have a plan for when I become a member of the working age population.  In fact, he seems to be somewhat ruining my future, with all his seemly anti-environment laws.

I don't want smog in my future!

Guess what?  I could've taken a megaphone to Ground Zero and started a USA chant and read compassionate speeches, too.  Not to say he shouldn't, but it doesn't make him great.

What do I remember about Bush?  Nothing but a manipulated little Texan, who while thousands lost jobs, hundreds died in an unneccessary war, and tax cuts for people making a fortune took away any chance of buliding a proper medicare plan, he out at his ranch or playing some golf.

I'm not like some Democrats that HATE Bush and HATE this administration.  I used to, but now I don't at all.  I'm sure he's a good man with good intentions.  But too often he casts aside the interests of the country in favor of special interest money and political gain.  Every president to ever serve I'm sure at some time put his priorties where they shouldn't be......but Bush does it with almost everything he does.  He's just a man that doesn't have what it takes to be the most powerful person in the world.

I think that a lot of the hatred towards Bush is regional prejudice.  Elitist Democrats in the northeast think that everybody else is less intelligent than they are, and Texans top the hate list for these "tolerant" people.

I think that Bush will get a lot of credit from history for tackling the terrrorism issue, which Clinton dodged and avoided because he was too busy with his extra-cirricular activities.

Whether you agree or not, Bush has taken some risks to do what he thinks is right for the country, and for the security of the American people, while Clinton put his own political fortunes above those of a people who were too busy enjoying the economic prosperity of the time to notice.

History never judges that kindly.

What an amazing barrage of intelligent conversation from the Democrats in this thread...LOL

Let me sum up the vast array of intellectual wisdom heaped upon this forum by my Democratic colleagues

1. I hate George Bush.
2. I hate George Bush because he's from Texas.
3. I hate George Bush because he's short and from Texas.
4. I hate Texas.
5. He's a manipulated short Texan...who I hate.
6. George Bush hates EVERYONE...except really rich people.
7. If you voted for George Bush you are stupid and were manipulated...by a short Texan.
8. Did I mention that we hate Texans?
9. George Bush hates the environment. He loves smog...he jerks off at the thought of burning trees.
10. My mommy said it's time for me to go play in the sandbox...but before I leave, did I mention that I hate Texans?

Note to Beet...I apologize to you for my last post, because unlike the rest of the Democratic cretins in this thread, you actually attempted to make a coherent commentary in your post.

Beet,

By the way, your comparison of Clinton to Eisenhower is somewhat amusing. About the only thing they have in common is that they both were smart enough to stay out of the way of business, hence they enjoyed solid economic times for most of their terms in office. Of course, giving Bill Clinton credit for the economic growth of the 1990's is kind of like saying Ronald McDonald is the reason your cheeseburger tasted good at lunch.

As for your comments about Clinton "restoring confidence" in America...I think you're way off base there. The DARK AGES in America were in the post-Vietnam, post-Watergate years of the mid to late 1970's when the nation was very much in a state of general malaise...not to mention double digit inflation, double digit unemployment, gas lines, prime interest rates DOUBLE what they are now, humiliated by a fourth rate Third World country like Iran. Then some guy named Reagan came along and restored faith in this nation...made people proud of the country again. Clinton came into office in 1992, after the economic boom of the mid to late 1980's and after the stunningly successful conclusion of the Cold War...so tell me how in the hell the country was in a general malaise after that???

I'm from Iowa, aka, the third dumbest state in the union (thank god Arkansas and Mississippi exist...). Whilst I'm 'smart', i'm certainly not an elitist democrat from the northeast.

Bush is so completely polarizing that I have seen people who don't even speak to each other because of him. I honestly do not think we hve had a POTUS that divides the country so much, certainly not in recent memory. In times like this, shouldn't we have an intelligent national leader who strenghtens our bonds with the world, and with each other?

Hughento,

Yes, we need intelligent people who say things like "I hate all people from Texas..."

I didn't say that. I said I Hate Texas, and that I hate the Texan-ism of America.

Having a state like TX have so much control over the country is a terrible, terrible thing in my book.

Hughento,

Ohhhhh...well that's totally different.

"A state like Texas..."
"I hate Texas..."

I never realized that Texas controlled the United States...I guess the Black Helicopters are actually part of the Texas Air National Guard...keep me posted on when Texas plans to invade Arkansas...

the left's hatred of bush is no more/less ignorant than the right's hatred of clinton.

when the right couldnt beat clinton on the issues, they ran around calling him a murderer, drug trafficker, rapist, among other things.

now the left runs around calling bush 'dumb', 'cowboy', and they make childish comments about a residents of a particular state (sort of like the right did about arkansas during the 90s)

it's all a silly game.

Hughento,

Really? You make the genius pronouncement that you "hate Texas" and other similar gems of wisdom...and I'm the one who is stupid?

Well, it's time for me to back down. Obviously I'm no match for you on an intellectual level. But I'll sleep well tonight knowing that intelligent young men like yourself represent the future of our nation. Perhaps when you yourself earn political office some day you can dazzle us with more words of wisdom like you have in this thread.

Perhaps one day people will call out, "Plato, Aristotle, Locke...morons...Hughento is the real genius." "Just remember those brilliant statements from Hughento like..."

1. I'm outlawing Cowboy Hats...because people from Texas like them.
2. Republicans are evil.
3. My third grade teacher was a Republican...and he was mean to me.
4. No soup for Republicans.
5. Did I mention I hate Texas?
6. And in my first official act in office, the United States shall secede from Texas.
7. I'm from Iowa so cut me some slack.
8. Do you want to supersize that combo maam?
9. Did I mention that Republicans hate poor people?
10. Bush is so stupid...cuz he's short...and he's from Texas...and he talks funny...and his daddy was rich...and he's religious...and he's a Republican...

WalterMitty,

I don't know about you, but I never ran around calling Clinton a murderer, drug trafficker or making fun of Arkansas. No way...I did call him a liar, which was firmly established in a court of law, and I did consider the possibility that he was a rapist based on the statements made by Juanita Broadrick, and the supplementary evidence based on his sexual predatory behavior in incidents involving Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Monica Lewinsky and other women.

But I never called him a murderer or said I hate Arkansas.
