Now me personally, as a libertarian, I pretty much stand alone in my cause. I'm probably one of about 35 or 40 Badnarik supporters in my town of 25,000. I was shocked to learn, however, that most of my friends actually support Bush. In fact, a kid in my town that's about my age actually used his father's name to vote for Bush in the Republican primary. He would later get community service for voting underage.

So me and my friends differ in that I'm a politically informed Libertarian and they are politically confused ultra-liberal Bush supporters. I'm yet to figure out why they chose such a strange road.

Most people I know are quite socialistic, either that or quite conservative. (I live in the UK remember, socialists are quite common) Despite this though, most the socialists support the liberal democrats I think (anyone but Blair it seems.....)

I have a wide variety of friends as far as politics goes. Centrists, liberals, conservatives, a few libertarians too. That's the advantage of going to a tech college - nice variety, and not many extreme professors trying to force their political views on you.

Most of my friends don't care about politics at all but identify themselves as conservatives. I do have a few liberal friends, though.

Most of my friends are more liberal than I am...

I have a few conservative freinds.......one of whom is part of the Christian right.

My other conservative friends who I used to have....were.....stupid....and I don't say that to insult any Republicans... But they would drive pick-up trucks...and love oil....and love GUNS......and they were scared to death that Democrats were going to take away their precious guns......

Guys are mostly to the right, often libertarian (i.e. pot should be legal, though of course there's a reason for that view..) With the chicks, it's more mixed, but mostly apolitical.

I don't really have any far-left friends. Not many like that live in VA or SC anyway, and definitely not anyone cool (well, almost anyone)...

I know lots of people in NOVA and especially Richmond who are far leftists (Richmond proper of course considering how absolutely hellish the suburbs are)

anyway my friends tend to be more moderate than me (not that very many people aren't) but none are conservatives, or at least aren't supporting Bush.

The suburbs ought to be walled off and have tons of rocks piled behind the wall to avoid contaminating Richmond.

My Richmond friends are more socially conservative than the Va Beach crowd, but equal on economic issues.

My friends talk very little about their political opinions, and I'm glad. They aren't the swiftest group when it comes to politics. One of my friends suggested the Michael Moore would definatly win if he ran for President. Needless to say I changed the conversation right there...

that's actually a pretty good idea for the Twin Cities, except we could keep a few suburbs like St. Louis Park and Brooklyn Center inside. After ilikeverin moves there of course Smiley

My school friends are largely uninterested in politics, usually blindly following whoever their parents support.

My friends outside of school are political nuts, and the vast majority are extreme leftists.  I'm moderate compared to them

Mixed bag though generally indifferent.  All have a dislike for John Street as do I.  Keystone Phil, don't get too excited over this, but one of my best friends is a conservative Republican from Northeast Philly.  We rarely discuss politics though.

I go to a public school, so there are few conservatives.

Add the fact that it is academic selective entry, and the whole place is buzzing with political discussion and the chance of getting rid of Howard. In my politics class, of the 20 students, 17 support Latham over Howard; 1 supports Howard, and 2 support Howard because they support Costello and Howard will probably step down in a couple of years.

I support Costello over Howard AND Latham, but i'm not prepared to put up with Howard for 2 more years just to get PM Costello.

Most of my friends are generally liberal, though I can usually get along with conservatives.  One of my friends is a borderline anarchist, which is always interesting.  He's actually a cool guy, if you don't get him started on politics.

All my friends think I'm a right wing nutjob. Even the ones who claim to be "right wing". The fact is that according to european standarts I'm much more to the right than to american standarts.
