I have now officially released a platform to let the people know where I stand on the Issues.

Economy- I believe in greater tax cuts on the middle class and small business. They are the movers and shakers of the economy. I also believe in cutting government spending to help reduce our national debt

Abortion- I support abortion in the first couple weeks of the pregancy. After that time has expired, the law should be give that child a right to life unless the pregnacy harms the mother or the mother is raped or incest.

Education- I don not believe in simply throwing money away to fix the problem. I believe in giving families a choice where to send thier kids if thier local public school does not meet the standards. This vocher program can be made to work both ways by giving parents choice and force schools to clean up thier act.

Enviroment- I support the idea of looking for alternative energy sources to power our vehicles, homes, and cities. If elected I will write legilslation that will get us off foriegn oil and explore new ways in which we can have a cleaner and safer future.

Gun Control- I am against new Gun laws. I support stricter enforcement of current gun laws. We don't need to expand the powers of the bereaucracy by making it tougher for law-abiding citizens to purchase fire-arms.

Health Care and Socail Security - I Am for reform of Medicare and SS. Both are leeches on the Federal Government;'s budget. In order to keep them afloat billions in new taxes must be raised.

To counter that, I am for the adopting the British Method. Let's make it optional for those who want to opt out of the Government system. At the same time citizens who are in the Federal system won't have to worry about government mismanagement oif thier hard earned tax dollars.

Iraq and Military funding- I am for the war in Iraq and and I am for spending billions of our money to ensure that Atlasians can go to bed at night not having worry if Our military can handle the threats here and abroad.

Senate Reform- I am for making the Senate more accountable to the people of Atlasia. I will look at ways to give the people more say in how districts and regions are determined as well as for the President to answer our questions.

Not a far right platform at all, really, with some interesting ideas! Sorry you were passed over for someone who thinks Hugo Chavez is perfectly okay... Roll Eyes

My platform is not really all that right of Center. Especially when a couple of my points regarding the Medicare/SS are partly inspired by the British government. I would hardly call the UK bastion of conservatism. Tax cuts on the middle class, welfare reform are both ideas that Democrats and republicans have been talking about for years. Just because I advocate them doesn't mean I a money grubbing fascist.

You should retake the Political Compass and see if your scores have changed, since your ideas are more moderate than your initial scores were! Smiley

I am still very much an ardent conservative. When I joined the UAC, I agreed to make compromises. Most of my campigning was on subject of Reform in the senate. However, I wanted to show that I wasn't a one issue candidate as well as be able to tone down the rhetoric. I did however, that still wasn't good enough.

If this experience has tought me anything it's that it's better to stick to your beliefs than trying to please "centrists."

We didn't force you to do anything, Justin. Get over yourself.
