My guess is that the US will pull out in February 2005 after the newly elected government asks us to.

BAGHDAD (AFP) - The US overseer for Iraq (news - web sites), Paul Bremer, aired the possibility of an American pullout from the country, saying the United States did not stay where it was "not welcome".

"If the provisional government asks us to leave we will leave," he said Friday, referring to a post-June 30 administration after the handover of sovereignty.

"I don't think that will happen but obviously we don't stay in countries where we're not welcome," he said at a working lunch in Baghdad with Iraqi officials from Diyala province.
