(West Branch, Iowa)

(PBrunsel walks to the stage in front of the Hoover Presidential Library. A band plays,” God Bless America,” as PBrunsel waves and shakes hands with the Mayor of West Branch and the City Council.)

PBrunsel: “"Being a politician is a poor profession, being a public servant is a noble one."” Herbert Hoover said. On this tour I have learned that you can tell people things you are not to win votes, but it’s better to lose an election then lie to the voters.

(Applause)

PBrunsel: I have been tagged as being too right wing and unelectable. I say that it is better to be who you are and lose an election then to be someone you aren’t and win one.

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: I have traveled from West Branch, Iowa, to Chicago, to San Francisco, to New York City, to Sioux City, and Galveston, and I have learned one thing. That is the promise of America can never be broken.

(Cheers and applause!)

PBrunsel: A load of politicians in Washington don’t make the decisions, the people do.

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: I started this tour to bring the people into politics so we could get moving and make the forum a better place for all.

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: It is not enough to say that you are a ,”Man of the People” or “The People’s Choice,” you must show it by supporting things that will help the people.

(Cheers and applause!)

PBrunsel: You do this by supporting low taxes, supporting churches, supporting charities, supporting tight knit families, and always putting America first.

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: Together we can rebuild the forum so we can have a government that comes from the people and not at them.

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: We can continue to press for a small government that stays out of the the citizen’s lives.

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: You have to go out and say, “I will fight to make it easier to raise a family!”

(Cheers and applause!)

PBrunsel: You have to say, “A big government is a big problem.”

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: You have to stand up for America!

(Cheers and applause!)

PBrunsel: You have to keep fighting. One loss doesn’t bring you down. You do down when you give up, when you accept to be kept down. You got to keep moving and keep telling yourself, “I can go farther. I can try harder. I can do better.”

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: Herbert Hoover was a poor boy when he was born here in 1877. He didn’t have two dimes to rib together, but he worked hard. He never gave up. He became a millionaire by age 30 and president in 1929. He lived the American Dream, and that’s why I won’t give up. I want all to have the American Dream!

(Cheers and applause!)

PBrunsel: “A trip is not a stumble,” Abraham Lincoln said in 1858 after losing his senate race. I may have tripped a few times during this tour, but I haven’t stumbled completely out of politics.

(Cheers)

PBrunsel: I will continue to fight for America first and for families.

(Cheers!)

PBrunsel: If we never falter, we can change this forum for the better.

(Cheers and applause as Greenwood’s “I’m Proud to be an American,” plays.  PBrunsel goes into the crowd to shake hands and then goes into the Hoover Presidential Library.)
