CNN: And we are now going live to Washington DC, where it is believed renegade AFDNC henchman Michael Z has an announcement to make...

Michael Z: Ladies and gentlemen. In the light of questions surrounding Attourney General MAS117's willingness to stand as the Democratic candidate in District Two, leaving us with the possibility of an unopposed run by Reaganfan, I have taken the decision to announce my candidacy in said District.

I believe I can bring with me a clear vision of a fair and free society, one in which every man and woman can realise their dream and not be afraid to use British punctuation when writing a sentence.

Should any conflict arise with regards to MAS117's intentions of standing, I would be happy to leave this decision to AFDNC Chairman Boss Tweed. (Hands a big bag with a $ sign to Boss Tweed).

Boss Tweed: Ooooh. Great. My... washing... is done.

Michael Z: And with that blatant Simpsons reference I must leave you.

(Cue the usual huddle of journalists wildly asking questions and camera flashlights going off randomly while Our Hero, I mean, potential Democratic Senate candidate Michael Z, walks off looking really really statesman-like.)

Who in my District is eligible to vote anyhow? Perhaps the Boss would know.

Ask JFK... do you need to be registered to vote in a regional election?

Isn't it too late to announce a run now?

i think the fact that we have so many one-horse races means that we are allowing people to enter stil, to make it more democratic.
