And Kerry? Mr. Bandaid Purple Heart isn't exactly a winner either.

I'm actually starting to like Bush more than Kerry.

I'm usually -8 to -9 on economic stuff and hover around -2 to +1 on social.

You are a centrist - which is pretty wide reaching. There are other factors that go into party ID besides the social and economic scale. Angus has talked about nationalism as a Republican theme that makes the difference for him. The role of national vs. state/local government doesn't really figure into the compass and that matters to me.
