Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we,"

Who heard that on ABC the other night?

Classic!

He's always making comments like that. There was a classic one about how his plan would "help fight peace in the middle east". There was another one about how we should bring Iraqis that like freedom to justice. The media will ignore it, as usual.

Did you hear in Kerry's acceptance speech when he said "I want to train more special forces to go into other countries and conduct terrorist operations" (meaning to say anti-terrorist operations)  I got a good laugh out of that one.

Okay, one more for the night and then I'm out. Here's one of my favorites: I understand that the unrest in the Middle East creates unrest throughout the whole region.

Hmmm. On a scale of 1-4 I would rate this as a Profile 2, Power 0  gaffe.  Not very damaging, but pretty humourous.  Easily shruged off.  Used a little P4E lingo there  Smiley

Laughed my a** off when I heard this on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Obermeyer.

Such a classic!
Such a perfect Bushism.  Too hilarious.
And probably true, too.  Hmm...

Certainly a quote that's worth a chuckle at first glance, but at at second glamce, we should be thinking of ways to harm our country and our people so that we can prevent them from happening if someone else should think of them.

I think it is fairly obvious Bush ment that we are trying to stay a step ahead of the terrorists with our intel.

If you didn't get that, you're the moron.

It was fairly obvious what he was trying to say. It was also fairly obvious he wasn't up to the task of actually saying it.

How can anyone profess that Bush says what he means and means what he says when we can't even understand what the heck he is saying.

I am sorry but it is time for this guy to go back to Texas, he won as a result of voter apathy by moderate Americans and a fluke/fraud in Florida the last time.

He will not "win" again.

A new 'Bushism': We're gonna get us
The Associated Press
Updated: 2:29 p.m. ET Aug. 5, 2004

WASHINGTON - President Bush offered up a new entry for his catalog of "Bushisms" on Thursday, declaring that
his administration will "never stop thinking about new
ways to harm our country and our people."

Bush misspoke as he delivered a speech at the signing
ceremony for a $417 billion defense spending bill.

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so
are we," Bush said. "They never stop thinking about
new ways to harm our country and our people, and
neither do we."

No one in Bush’s audience of military brass or
Pentagon chiefs reacted.

The new Bushism is getting major play on MSNBC, ABC, Jay Leno, David Letterman, CNN, AP and many others.  I just think it is too freaking funny.  What a great communicator this guy is...puts Reagan to shame.

My conspiratorial mind reels at the implications of this Freudian slip.  How diabolical of them to constantly be thinking up new ways to harm us!  Dang it, I wish they would stop that!

Wink

They did, actually. Nobody dared (if that's the word) to laugh, but the room fell embarassingly silent.
