I disagree.  He'd win, but Nader would get 5% in states where he was on the ballot.

Lieberman would win the Gore states + Florida and NH.

Lieberman isn't very likable, but yes, he would be.

If he won the nomination, he'd have money pouring in to create momentum.  Lieberman really doesn't have many weaknesses against a Republican opponent, only with other Democrats and Nader.

Lieberman has the great ability to argue that he has integrity and isn't forced to defend stupid partisan votes like Kerry is, because he doesn't have any.

Lieberman is an awful speaker, and 3rd parties would be polling a lot better.

I personally like Lieberman almost as much as Zell Miller.
I would be only slightly less happier under Lieberman than Bush.

Lieberman would do well in swing states that don't have a lot of Nader voters.

It would probably look something like this:

Who would Lieberman pick as a running mate? I would assume someone anti-war...

Anti war candidate...hmmmm..I don't think it would work. Could you imagine a Lieberman - Dean ticket? The anti war Dems and pro war Dems are from totally different ends of the political spectrum so I don't think the ticket would be that strong. So basically, I don't think it would happen.

Then again, without an anti war running mate, you would see some of the more liberal Dems voting for Nader or Cobb. That would mean defeat for the Lieberman campaign.

Some would, but it wouldn't  be too significant I think, especially with the ABB movement.   I think this would be easily outweighed by the Republicans and moderates voting for him.

Lieberman shouldn't shoot for the bipartisan ticket though.  Choosing a Republican as his running mate would turn off a lot of Democrats who would be already questioning his party alignment.

I think it would be Lieberman/Edwards.  A blatant southerner would be more practical for Lieberman, since many of those states would be in play.  Also, moderates think Edwards is a moderate and liberals think Edwards is a liberal, so he doesn't make any group mad.

It would probably look something like this:

1. Nader wouldn't win a state

2. Lieberman would lose social conservative areas because he is a social liberal, and is Jewish
