Rust Belt:

Periphial south = Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and Arkansas

#1   Pacific Coast / Hawaii
#2   NYC / New England
#3   Upper Mid-west
#4   Mid Atlantic
#5   Rust Belt
#6   Rocky Mountain / Alaska
#7   Upstate New York
#8   Desert Southwest
#9   Border States: Virginia, Tennessee & Kentucky
#10   South Atlantic
#11   Deep South
#12   Texas
#13   Peripheral South

So I live in #3, not bad. Of course most of the upper midwest is more socially conservative than where I live, so this is an even better fit.

How exactly did they lump NYC and New England into one region, but make Upstate New York seperate?  The creators' knowledge of regions is suspect.

Has anybody figured out how to view which classifications correspond to which states (it says to copy part of a code, but I'm not sure exactly what is intended to be copied.)

I live in the right place. Good. I thought I was going to be New England. No wonder, the reigons get more Republican as the list goes on.  Great Test.

NYC and New England are more alike than NYC and Buffalo.
