seems like they are planning an *illegal* strike just in time for the rnc.  i hope everyone that participates is immediately fired.

i think if i were president, id devote most of my term just trying to bust up as many unions as possible.

The strike ain't illegal.

If I was President, my administration would aggressively prosecute any company or other party that busts unions. I would also support a federal law (if necessary, a constitutional amendment) to annul state right-to-scab laws.

As the step-daughter of a union president I can vouch for unions having many good qualities, while being quite imperfect at the same time.  Most unions don't really WANT to strike, it is a matter of fighting for their members to get changes made that are important to the workers.  They are fighting for changes to be made that are important to them, important enough to them that they are willing to give up their pay to fight for them.  Strikes are not without consequence to the workers and their families, and they are not done lightly.

People should be free to unionize.
People should be free to scab.

Why do so many people have a problem with others' rights to freedom of assembly and association?

Isn't it illegal for policemen or firemen to go on strike?
