Since I am being hammered on by my own party for my recent endoursments of Pat Toomey, my continued support for Rick Santorum and my current support for Mr. Nixon, I here-by resign as a member of the UAC and will register as an Independent.  I will serve out the remainder of my term, unless, of course President Lundgren finds it wise to move otherwise.  If anyone has any questions....

You might be refuse to join the GOP but I'm very happy to see you standing by your support of Republicans like Toomey and Santorum.

Supersoulty, you are too good of a guy to leave your party. I have felt that ever since you first ran for President.

I know my opinion means nothing, but I feel you are too noble and respectable to leave your party while you are serving as Vice President.

Well we care.  We want our members to represent the centrist values and principles that this country stands for and not flip-flop on them.  We will flip the COINs (Centrists Only In Name)!

I'm from the centrist wing of the United Atlas Centrist Party and we're going to Missouri, to Oregon, to New Hampshire, to Alabama, to Michigan, to Ohio, to Iowa, to New Mexico, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

Thank you PB, but there is currently a severe disconnect between myself and many in the party.  I have been made to feel outcast, like I am a fraud, like I am a hard-core-right-wing-nut just because I have defended theose who many see indefensable and taken a few possitions out of step with the centrist philosophy of the party.  Never mind the work I have put in for the Senate.  Never mind my loyalty to the party.  Never mind that deep down I am not a hateful person, never mind that I have an interest in seeing a forum where all members can participat and be treated as human beings.  In spite of all of that, or perhapes because of it, they have labeled me the red-headed step-child and severly questioned my individual integrity and my heart-felt "compassionate conservative" philosophy.

I can assure you that if the shoe had been on the other foot and I had spent the last 5 months developing a strong, "net friendship" with you and not Dan, I wouldn't have ran those never have ran those ads, which were just jokes, against you and would have supported you whole heartedly.

Soulty,

Just wanted to let you know that I don't hold it against you that Nixon turned out to be a loon.  I think you've done fine as VP.

*cough*  Actually I think I do care who people support in our party.  It makes quite a difference.  We are accepting of people, but if you go against our party, I personally believe there's a problem...

I am talking about.. we would not care if you support harry for senate...

I'd just like to say I am deeply saddened to see Supersoulty leave this party.

I remember when I supported him in his quest for the Presidency as the unoffcial head of his GOTV campaign. I supported him then and I support him now no one should be strong armed into leaving a party which they have been a part of...

That being said I also would like to make it clear I have no problems with Don. Though, I do fully disagree with him on this issue.

I would just like to extend an olive branch to you, Supersoulty.  I want you to know that for all of our political differences of the past (actually I can't remember ever getting in a serious fight with you (I reserve the serious fighting for Don Smiley )) I have a great deal of respect for you.  Should you ever wish to rejoin the republican party we would welcome you with open arms.

You weren't nor is anyone else who doesn't perfectly fit Don's mold.  That goes for Fantasy Politics and real-life.

I honestly doubt that I swayed any votes PB.  Besides, you can't expect me to turn on a friend.

Sad

I hope you can reach some sort of reconciliation.

And I never base my appointments on party affiliation. Supersoulty stays on as VP regardless.

I like you both and I hope you can work this out.

I didn't expect you to endorse me, not at all. Demrepdan was not only your running mate, but he is a good friend of yours. I in no way felt that you would endorse me over Demrepdan.

I'm glad you've chosen a path you feel is best for you, Mr. Vice President.  Maybe with you leaving, the UAC will try to correct some of their mistakes and get like they used to be in the early days of the party.

But maybe not.
