In order of margin :

Oklahoma :  57-63% (My social conservatism would help)
Wyoming : 54-60% (The R next to my name)
Utah : 51-57% (My sympathy to Mormons)

I recall BRTD saying I'd be perfect in the swing states but for many liberals, I wouldn't be that good a Democrat. I haven't the faintest idea, so I'll yet some other Forumite hazard a guess

Probably none, but I think I would be in the hunt in Alaska and Wyoming.  Hey, I'm not a Greenie! Maybe I could get New Hampshire to swing my way. In much of the hyper GOP belt, my near atheism, and other non-conformist opinions just would knock me out of the box, and I am too hostile to certain Dem special interest groups to pick up much that typically goes Dem.  I am just not for everyone, and indeed perhaps not for most. I had someone run a simulation (that election game perhaps?) pitting me as a Republican against a populist southern Democrat. This was my best scenario

Of course as a gayer the chances of that would be slim Smiley

Playing the old version of President Forever, with me in control, against Emsworth I can win every state save Alabama and Alaska. For some reason, on abortion, Alabama is to my left

Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island

Could add California, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Maryland even with a stellar candidate.  Pennsylvania and Delaware, due to locality, would be very uphill even for a stellar candidate.

Actually I could Also Carry Alabama, I have better chances in Alabama then in Utah. Though my religion may be a problem  there.

Worst case scenario.  Assuming GOP candidate is not from PA.  If Ridge or Corbett, I'd concede, but anyway:

I'd win Utah, and Idaho, for obvious reasons. Probably 70-75% in Utah and 65-70% in Idaho. Kansas would be next, as it is my home state. I'd guess 60-65% there.

Isn't it more or less WY, UT, ID for R's and MA, RI, VT for D's?

Not necessarily if somebody is a socially liberal Republican or a moderate in some other fashion. Home state advantage, regional appeal, and appeal to certain groups effect it as well. An atheist libertarian Republican would not win UT or ID.

I wonder what Walter Mondale, George McGovern, and Alf Landon's answers would be.
