There is no need for an emergency vote. keep the election when people expect it.
If we really want to do this, and the consensus seems to be that we do, why wait for it take effect?

Well my good sir that is what we call a lawful democratic process for starters....

There is nothing unlawful about emergency intiatives, go be irrelevant somewhere else

I have been opposed to a legislature for a while simply because I feel like we do not have that much diversity in the Dirty South. Obviously, if the governor can recruit more people to join it to make a legislature useful, I would be all for it. As I said earlier, it makes no sense to have a legislature if we are all in unanimous agreement on most of the issues. Let's face it; the RPP has a lock on the Dirty South. We haven't had a competitive election since my first reelection back in August of 2008. It speaks volumes to the power of our party, but also is a strong argument against a legislature. I wouldn't stand in the way of one, however... it may be good for the region.

I would like the idea if we can ensure we'd actually have issues to argue on. I just felt like that it would be redundant. Me, DWTL, and whoever else in it really inspire much debate. The only non-RPP members in the DS that actually participate in anything is Bacon King. The rest of us are RPP members.

I'm not trying to shoot you down, DWTL, I just am not seeing its purpose. Please enlighten me.

Did you ever thing that if they had something to particpate in they would be more active? Did you ever thing it would be easier to keep newbies in the Dirty South once they have been recuited? Everyone who has joined after me has gone innactive. There is nothing to do.

No need to be so confrontational, NC Yank. Jeez.. Tongue

I understand your point. I am just saying that having no diversity of ideas will not help increase activity. We will simply be in an echo chamber. That's my only fear about a DS Assembly. I'd support a bill for it if it came up to vote, but I do question its purpose.

Thats was not confrontational. I understand you fear, but we can't attract new members if there is nothing for them to be doing.
