angus.

First time I read one of his posts here I thought he was stark raving mad. But after reading some of his long diatribes you really begin to appreciate his quirkiness. He's a free spirit and still intelligent.

Euh, I don't know him, but just if he comes in France, he should be aware that "PD" is the equivalent of "fag" (gay sens) here. Just for the info, can be useful to know...

Bayrou most certainly didn't know that.

Mouhahaha. If ever he had persisted, would have ruined all his chances...

Imagine the slogan. Votez pour le PD! (Vote for the fag!). Grin

Afleitch, SuperSoulty, Sam Spade, Beet, Paul718, John Ford, The Mikado. Obviously there's more that I like here but those really come to mind. Maybe StatesRights too, for sheer testicular fortitude.
Oh and Dead0Man and Dibble, forgot about them.

Thank you, I really appreciate that.

I'm not much of a hero-worshipper but a couple of people that I hold personal admiration for on here are Aflteich, WalterMitty, Supersoulty and JSojourner. That is because they seem to have dealt in an admirable fashion with things that I've never had to face myself.

There are plenty of other people I like and/or admire for other reasons (knowledge, intellect, etc) but that doesn't really make them heroes for me.

You're welcome there. Smiley

Seriously, why can't more people like you join the Republicans? Kiki I think it'd be great to have more members who actually want smaller government and are sympathetic to LGBT issues. I mean there are plenty of gays and bisexuals who want lower taxes and spending, gun rights protected, and so forth. But I honestly believe that most of those gays and bisexuals are really freaked out at how the current Republican leadership treats them.

I'd have to say Keystone Phil.

He's sort of the Republican's Elder Statesmen on the forum.

Forum hero?  None, really.  There are certainly posters here whose opinion I respect a good deal and many other posters who I enjoy to read.

More disconcerting to me is this, however:  There are a certain number of posters who I have respected in the past (and probably still do, to some extent) who have chosen to follow the herd at the worst possible time. (sighs)

I don't  know many posters that well and I wouldn't call anyone a "hero," but I almost always read posts by Lunar and Phil. They're especially amusing when they bicker like jilted lovers.

Wow...so many.  I would say the top five are...

Torie
Afleitch
Nym
Bullmoose
Fritz

OMG, I actually made someone's list!  Smiley

I will say Dan, a relative newbie who no one has mentioned yet.  He has thrown himself into this forum with both feet, while staying detatched from the petty bickering that often goes on in here.
