Unless they came in with full head scarves or whatever, how could you tell you were selling alcohol to a Muslim anyway?

In countries like Malaysia, it's implied through ethnicity.  If you're Malay you can't legally NOT be a Muslim.

This brings up the question of why I'd be selling alcohol in Malaysia

So many unanswered questions Sad

Malaysia has large non-Malay ethnic minorities: Chinese, most notably.  There are Western tourists and expats.

Sure.  I know many Muslims who drink...except during Ramadan, of course.  Smiley

Most Muslim leaders would demand you not and act as morality police to them.
It's a workable compromise. It's recognising that they don't have the right to enforce prohibition on their non-Muslim minority.

Of course, prohibition is a lot of bullcrap, and lots of Muslims drink (though most don't). I'm just pointing out that there is a logic behind the position - that it isn't as unreasonable as your trying to make it sound.

But where I live, it's hardly a non-Muslim minority.

And who's demanding that this be done where you live - not saying that's theoretically how it ought to be, but actually demanding it?
