I could never bring myself to say something I don't believe in, no matter the situation, but I'm interested in what others might say.

So; Would you say something you don't believe in politics, just to advance?

I'd make a terrible politician; no patience for political horseshít/protocol, and honest to a fault.

Depends of course, but I'd have no qualms pretending I'm against gun control for example. Voted yes.

To an extent, yes.  I wouldn't say anything totally contrary to my views, like denouncing Israel, but I'm willing to be very flexible.

Nope. I wouldn't dare compromise my policy positions.

Oh, if I was seriously interested in political power (and I'm not) then I certainly would; just like everyone else. There's a very strong element of charlatanism in public life (all of it; not just politics), a lot of acting. What typically distinguishes politicians are the limits they place on this, not whether or not they do it (you know... some will draw a line at saying something they disbelieve but will say things they don't believe, and so on).

No....and that is one of the (many) reasons I'll never be a politician.

Knowing myself, I might, but only on something that I honestly don't care that much about one way or the other. I would like to think I would never say something that I disbelieve under any circumstances.

I don't really want power; I only want to make a difference.

No, only because I'm too lazy to pursue any kind of truly powerful position.
